Description of project
Hitz und Partner AG was awarded the contract for the complete replacement of the outer panels of the central building. The polyurethane panels, which were installed in 1972, no longer met current static and operational safety requirements. In fall 2011, Swisscom Broadcast AG mandated us to perform a study on the replacement of the panels. In December 2013, it decided in favor of a further development of the project with on-site testing. The proposed solution involved ETFE film. The final solution was implemented using GFRP panels on the north-north east sides as well as ETFE film on the west and south sides.
